Q: How much does it cost?
A: Premium sites cost $149 setup and $49 per year
to maintain them after that. Branded sites cost $249 to set up and $249
per year for maintenance. You can create a site and see how this works
before you pay, but you will not be able to earn your revenue share until
the site has been paid for!
Q: How much can I earn?
A: This is only limited by your visitors and
your revenue model. You keep ~80% of all the payments (we have a $1
per transaction, plus 20% fee) made by your users. If you make all
your ads free, then you will not make as much as if you at least charge
commercial customers a fee. If you set yourprices too high, you run
the risk of not getting any ads. We start you off with some prices
that we have seen to work well, but you control the prices and can
edit them as you wish.
Q: How long does it take to get my site
ready for my visitors?
A: Anywhere from a few minutes to a few days.
If you like the site as is, then you can be five minutes away from
a working classified ad or auction site. If you want to alter the look
or layout of the site, this could be an hour to a few days, depending
on the complexity of your own site. If you want to edit or add lots
of categories, this could take you a few hours.

server?
A: No. You just need to link to the
classifieds and you are done.
Q: How do I link to the Classifieds?
A: We give you the code to use if you want to
show ads on your pages, and we also recommend you integrate a classifieds
link in your general site navigation. The more fully integrated into
your site, the better.
Q: The Category list is on the left and
my site uses a left navigation, can you move the category list
to above the ads?
A: Yes. If your site would work better with
the categories on top, let us know and we will change your site settings
for this layout.
Q: How do I know which categories to choose?
A: When you create your site, we offer a few
templates to choose from. If you want a general classified ad site,
we have a template with hundreds of catgories. We also have templates
for auction sites (close to 1,000 categories);, automotive sites (almost
100 categories); Business Opportunity sites; and Adult Content sites.
Q: My site is family freindly, what about
objectionable content?
A: If you choose categories to match your site,
then you will not have any trouble. Ads in Merchandise, Automotive,
Pets, and similar categories will all be family friendly. Obviously,
don't choose any of the Adult categories, and you can make a judgement
call about the Personals, Announcements, and even Services categories
depending on your audience.
Q: Can I have Adult content?
A: Yes, but make sure you choose appropriate
categories. If you want to use the general categories, make sure your
users know to keep that content PG rated at worst. In the Adult categories
themselves, we do not police them, but if we are informed of truly
objectionable, indecent, or illegal content we reserve the right to
remove it.
Q: Can I have sub-categories?
A: Yes. You may nest categories as deep as you
want, although more than four levels can get pretty complex for your
users. Most sites do well with two levels if they are creating the
categories from scratch.
Q: Why do I want to allow Network Ads?
A: Showing Network ads gives you additional
content and earnings. Not only will your site have more ads, but you
will earn additional income based on the relative activity of your
site compared to all the other sites in the Network. When
users pay for the Network option, this money goes into a pool which
is shared amongst all sites showing network ads.
Q: How much does it cost to get started?
A: Nothing. You can create your account and
explore the system for free.
Q: How much does it cost show ads?
A: Nothing. In fact, you can earn ads by showing
Network ads. Your earnings will be from the Network ad fee pool, and
will be based on relative activity of your site compared to all other
sites in the Network and showing feeds.
Q: How much does it cost to submit ads?
A: The cost is based on the number of ads and
their duration. The fee is $1 per ad per week that it will be shown
on the network. 10 ads for 1 week would cost $10. 100 ads for 4
weeks would cost $400.
Q: What formats do we use?
A: JavaScript, RSS, XML and server-to-server
connections. All the details for the feeds are listed on the feed
page.
Q: Can I send ads without showing AdConnect
ads?
A: Yes. You can choose to feed ads into the
network if you want. You can also choose to only show ads and not send
a feed.
Q: Why would I want to send my ads to AdConnect?
A: You will be able to offer your customers
better exposure and make more money as well. The AdConnect network
gets about 750,000 visitor sessions per month, which can greatly increase
the exposure and response rate for your customers ads. Also, at an
affordable dollar a week, you can charge your customers a premium
and make money from this upsell. It is quite reasonable to charge $5
to $10 for getting their ad on a network of sites with hundreds of
thousands of users.
